Message Board - Pests, Weeds and Diseases: Could someone help me rates of fungicides?
Posted 11 Apr 2012 Robin Soderling
Was just having a look around the web and was wondering if anyone knew why the rates vary depending on country? For example?
In the UK Heritage Maxx is registered for fusarium (Microdochium nivale), Brown patch (Rhizoctonia solani),
Leaf Spot (Drechslera poae) and Anthracnose (Colletotrichum graminicola) at 2.5L/Ha. In Australia its registered at 6L/Ha and in the USA at 3-6L/Ha for these? Same diseases and I know different climate but surely not that much difference? Any ideas?

i havnt looked anything up regarding lates and lables, but my guess would be maybe the amount of active ingredient in each country is different, could be for registration reasons.

Nope checked that as well. Product same strength same everything apart from pack size but different usage rates. Very odd. Any ideas why?

Robin,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the UK there are strict rules on the actual amount of any active ingredient allowed to be applied to the ground annually.
Have had the same question asked over in NZ as to why Syngenta has two different rates between NZ and the UK.
Also, the UK site may only give a 14 day control rate for their rates, where you might find 28 day control with the Aussie rates?
