Just wondering if anyone is using silicone as a foliar to help speed up their tiffdwarf greens and what rates?Does it really work and how long does it last?Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Gee-Man, i often use silicone in my programme but predominately for disease resistance. I have been mixing it in with my fungicides and have had terrific results. On your point about pace i have put it out on the morning of a play day after rain and probably gained somewhere close to 1 sec. more than when not applied.

Phar-lap what rates and what fungicides?

Brent, i've been using turgor (floatine) @ 100ml/100m2 mixed with ipridione. I have just trialed a new silicone from Simplot rates are much lower 30ml/100m2 only put out 2 days ago for first time so a bit early to say which i prefer.

Phar-Lap , i've used Turgor myself, plus other Floratine products and find them to work well. What diseases do you find that combo works best on?

Brent, i find the combo very good in minimizing the likelyhoood and impact of helmo in adverse conditions, also for anyone else reading any ideas for pithium in a "greenlees park" bowling green has almost decimated one side of a green have tried TMTD and propamomal, about to try a programme with dedicate if there are any other ideas out there as i'm at wits end and running out of season.

Have you tried subdue Maxx by Syngenta,I use it religiously and never get it.Excellent for preventative not sure if anything is going to work well for curative co troll, although years ago I used Zineb for curative control and it worked really well. Not sure if it's still available.

It depends where the infection is. Weather it's on the leaf or in the roots. Banol is fairly good as a curative measure and have had excellent results with signature as a preventative. Subdue as mentioned by gee-man is another good alternative.

Terrazole is like dropping an atomic bomb on pythium blight or root rot, needs to be watered in lighty. Banol is a cheaper option that works well. Signature will give you preventative control for 3-4 weeks, Signature moves up and down in the plant so resistance is unlikey. Subdue maxx and Heritage maxx are good preventative options.
