Can someone please identify this horrible weed for me that is taking over a cricket square. And if a selective herbicide will take it out.

Eleusine tristchya ( Goosegrass, grabgrass etc.) DSMA will fix it, spot spray or hand weed.

also known as crowsfoot, loves it in Brisbane cricket wickets.

DSMA, MSMA or Tribute will all help remove selectively.

One thing - always remember to read the safety directions and follow them! Both the first two are classified as Dangerous Poisons

Once is a mistake, twice is stupidity!

Thanks guys. I had originally thought that it was goosegrass but googling it just made me very confused. Different websites said that goosegrass was Eleusine Indica (crowsfoot) and or crabgrass (digitaria sanguinalis).
Finding out the botanical name of Eleusine Tristachya and googling that gave me some good answers and photos to what these three grasses actually are. Quite interesting that these three get confused by common name in so many websites and in the general industry.
Great help Bradley.
