IF ANYONE COULD GIVE ME A STEP BY STEP GUIDE FROM THE TIME IT IS LAYED TILL THE FIRST GAME THAT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. I AM A GROUNDSMAN IN SYDNEY AND AM LOOKING TO GET THE CRICKET SEASON OFF TO A GOOD START....... IN A FEW MONTHS THAT IS.

Generally getting hold of washed couch previous to the commencement of the season is a struggle til the warmer weather kicks in mid nov well that is here in s.a. no one will supply til then as the couch just falls apart in the washing process. Once attained the choice is to lay them north south or east west generally we do it running down and up the wicket, cracks can open up in between the joins i think either way could be much of a muchness as long as preparation is satisfactory(ie sifted even size clay particles, compaction and moisture) so as levels do not vary too much in which case top dressing after will be of relevance but it will obviously extend recovery time. You may want to work on one strip at a time to give your work best chance to succeed ie sacrifice others and work on them later in case you have dramas God knows we soon here about it if that is the case!good luck Anonymous! let me know how ya go!
