WHATS IN A TITLE

SIMPLE QUESTION.THE DIFFRENCE BETWEEN A HEAD GROUNDSMAN AND A GROUNDS MANAGER?

Titles

There are plenty of Head Groundsmen/Greenkeepers who could be titled as Grounds or Course managers. The title of manager though will help to raise our profiles and where there are more than five staff involved this title should be used

What`s in a title?

Actually, a title can be very important - not only should it reflect accurately the work you do but it will also determine your status in an organisation and your level of pay. In theory, a Grounds Manager will have complete responsibility for all areas of his work including budgets and staff appointments. A Head Groundsman will generally have responsibility for appointing and managing staff but less involvement in budgeting. Hope this helps.
