Problems with a contractor Part 2

I have spoken to both parties now, involved in this dispute. It would appear that fault is, in the most part, weather attributed. Sand slits were laid by the contractor and from what I have been led to believe there has been little or no rain down in the west country for some time. The sand slits have therefore not grown over, and the surface is deemed unfit for play. To all intents and purposes the said contractor has bent over backwards for the club, but may well be guilty of not explaining sufficiently the need for water to aid germination and establishment after construction. I have asked the contractor to respond eloquently to the previous messages, and I would urge members to rememeber that there are two sides to every story. I am in no way judge or jury and have not seen the venue nor studied the whole saga in great detail. I do know that misunderstandings inevitably lead to bitter rows, and to that end I would ask everyone involved in getting work done or contracting for the work to get all aspects of the job, including extras etc agreed and signed in writing.
