The Victorian Greenkeepers Association will be holding an information day for greenkeepers, green directors, bowlers and anyone involved in lawn bowling greens.

The day is aimed to get greenkeepers together to talk everything greens related and try to get some fresh information out there.

There will be a number of guest speakers including Patrick Madden and Dr Henk Smith from Syngenta, Phil Ford from Ballarat University and 1-2 more speakers yet to be confirmed.

The topics covered by the speakers will be the latest in fungicides and there application and everything related to natural grass greens with a focus on couch surfaces.

There will also be some couch experts willing to answer any questions in an open forum, current situation of our turf trials, tiff tour updates and plenty of photos.

The day will be held on Wednesday, August 4th at 10am with coffee available from 9.30am and we hope to have all things wrapped up by mid afternoon after a BBQ lunch that will be supplied.

And don't forget the VGA Greenkeepers Cruise for 2010

Our Annual Greenkeeper Cruise is back again this year. We will be departing from Waterfront Marina down at Docklands. Below are the details required.
 
Money MUST BE PAID TWO WEEKS PRIOR as NO PAYMENTS can be made on the day.

DATE: Wednesday 14th July 2010
TIME: Meet at Marina 12.45pm SHARP for 1pm Departure.
Cruise returns at 5pm

COST
$60.00 VGA Members
$90.00 Non Members
Cost includes finger food, beer, wine, soft drink and cruise.

Our AGM will be held once onboard the the rest of the time is to mingle and catch up with fellow greenies.


Greenkeeper of The Year 2010 Nominations

If you think that your club greenkeeper has done a great job this season, is a financial VGA Member the please nominate him for this prestigious award, which will be presented at our Annual River Cruise and AGM. Nominations must be in NO LATER than Wednesday 30th June 2010.
