reports that Merewether Golf Club has taken the first step towards a complete overhaul of their
watering systems following a Federal Government grant to increase the dam capacity on the eighth hole.
was at the club last week to inspect the finished product in the first stage of redevelopments following a grant for $43,433 as part of the Community Water Grants program. The club will reduce their spending on water from the Hunter Water Corporation by increasing the size of the dam by 1.5 megalitres. “An application for round three Community Water Grants to construct a new dam between
the 13th tee and 14th fairway was submitted for consideration by the Australian Government in July,” Merewether president David Dick said.
