Jason Dick lives a nine-iron shot from his workplace. The 21-year-old Luddenham resident takes only minutes to get to work each day no traffic hassles, no waiting for public transport, no delays getting to his outdoor office, no fares.

Dick says working in the outdoors as one of 11 greenkeepers at Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club is ``a dream job.'' Phil Beal is the head greenkeeper. ``I live near the third tee,'' Dick said.

A strong love for golf went a ``fairway'' to persuading Dick to become a greenkeeper. ``I loved playing golf and then developed an interest in greenkeeping,'' he said. ``I got a job here at Twin Creeks and finished my apprenticeship last year.

Dick is in charge of the irrigation of the 6.5 kilometre course designed by former professional, Graham Marsh. `We've got our own water recycling and pump systems,'' Dick said. The ``turf doctor'' said lack of rain in summer provides the greatest challenge.
