The running of the Ipswich Cup will continue next year despite redevelopment plans fIpswich Turf Clubor the Bundamba racecourse.

Ipswich Turf Club general manager Brett Kitching has denied speculation that this year's Cup would be the last for a few years as the track prepares for a $30million overhaul. The project is subject to a legal fight over the proposed sale of Albion Park to fund Queensland Racing Limited's grand plans for racing's three codes to hold meetings at the Bundamba course.

It comes as trainer Robbie Heathcote looks to win his third-straight Ipswich Cup with Our Lukas. ``There has been no discussion as far as tampering with the Ipswich Cup goes,'' Kitching said. ``There's a formula that we hold over many years that obviously suits the patrons and the city of Ipswich; no one wants to alter the day. It will stay on the same day, on the same basis it has since 1934.'
