To grow and maintain four million strawberry plants and prepare 200 acres of ground, tractors often do more than 12 hours per day.

News ImageAfter running several different brands of tractors, Queensland based Rewards Management Group purchased their first Kubota M-Series tractor three years ago.

Today a fleet of three M125X (125 horsepower - hp), three M95X (95hp) and six L3130 (31hp) do all the major farm work at Wamuran near Caboolture.

According to farm manager Angelo Pinnar, all M-Series tractors are equipped with 32 inch wheels on the front and 48 inch wheels on the back which gives the tractors a crop clearance of two feet (610mm). Angelo says, “Our six M95X and M125X tractors are used for spraying, plastic lifting, and cultivation such as pulling an offset disc or rotary hoeing.”

The M125X tractor is equipped with a five cylinder turbo charged engine with a direct injection system that produces 105 PTO horsepower. The M95X with 80 PTO horsepower has a four cylinder engine that is also turbo charged.

The eight speed powershift transmission in the X-Series tractors allows up and downshifts by the push of a button. By engaging the auto shift function the tractor speeds up and down depending on tractor load or throttle pedal position.

“When turning the tractor around at headlands, the Bi – Speed function comes in really handy,” says Angelo Pinnar. “The front wheels increase speed by double to turn the tractor almost on the spot,” he said.

“Being a strawberry farm we need to meet a certain quality assurance, it is very important not to have oil leaks from machinery. Before we purchased Kubota, we had a look at all makes. We found that for all our utility jobs the Kubota stacked up better than other tractors. I will definitely replace our older tractors with other Kubota’s as they come up to be changed.” says Angelo.

Kubota markets a complete range of tractors up to 125 horsepower, along with a line of performance matched front end loaders. Angelo Pinnars video testimonial about the MX – Series tractor range can be also viewed on www.kubota.com.au
