Geelong has 36 million reasons to hope Tony Abbott can form a Coalition Government.

The Opposition Leader promised a $36 million windfall for the redevelopment of Skilled Stadium midway through the election campaign. Prime Minister Julia Gillard has said she would wait until the fate of Australia's bid to host the 2022 soccer World Cup is known in December before holding talks with the Cats about upgrading the stadium.

A win for Ms Gillard would also help North Melbourne, the beneficiary of a $1.9 million Labor Party pledge to upgrade its Arden St training ground.
The money was earmarked for drainage, irrigation, fencing and new coach's boxes.
