Polaris has broken new ground with the launch of the Polaris Ranger Diesel. Certainly it is ticking all the boxes and more for what you would expect of a diesel 4x4 Side x Side. Power comes from the 904cc diesel engine delivering 24hp and up to 35mph top speed.
As you would expect of a diesel, torque is substantial throughout the operating range and there are clear benefits in fuel economy. A big 34.1 litre fuel tank also means even fewer fills. But it's not just power and economy that's important.
Traction is the next consideration and the Ranger Diesel offers On Demand True All Wheel Drive, automatically engaging all four wheels when needed and then reverting back to 2WD on easier ground. Polaris VersaTrac turf mode allows operation on more sensitive terrain.
This is a big hearted diesel with massive towing and hauling capabilities, carrying up to a 1,500lbs (680.4 kg) payload of people and gear and boasting a class leading 2,000lbs (907.2kg) towing capacity. When the going gets rough the suspension comes into its own. The only 4-corner adjustable suspension system available it adjusts to softer setting for general work or stiffer for heavy-duty.
A key feature is the legendary Polaris independent suspension with 9" (22.9cm) of travel and there's a full 12" (30.5cm) of ground clearance, plenty to avoid obstructions. Polaris' Lock & Ride® accessories offer a versatile range of accessories that fit on or off the vehicle in seconds.
Bumpers, brushguards, winches and a full line-up of cabs and cab components are available. The Ranger Diesel brings home comforts to utility vehicles with class leading ergonomics and comfortable seating for three. There's a multifunctional digital gauge with odometer, tachometer, gear and AWD indicator and an analogue speedometer.
The steering can be tilted with 10" (25.4cm) of adjustability and the under-seat storage is conveniently removable. This is no quiet revolution.
