PILA soccer (football) goal posts were once again chosen for use by the Socceroos when the Qantas Socceroos Scott Chipperfield, Luke Wilkshire, David Carney and Josh Kennedy celebrated a new three year multi-million dollar agreement with beverage manufacturer Schweppes. "We are delighted to announce this new partnership with Schweppes and we appreciate their support for our ambitious plans to be the sport of first choice for players and fans particularly through the new Cotttes 5-a-side schools program. This is another very good day for FFA," said FFA CEO Ben Buckley in the Football Australia Newsletter.

Buckley said that football has had the highest participation rates of any sport for boys aged 5-14 years for more than a decade and is also the fastest growing team sport for girls with an average annual growth rate of more than 6% over the past five years.

"There are many children who also enjoy playing the game at school, and particularly as they follow the Qantas Socceroos journey to participate in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa over the next 18 months or so. Cottees support will help more children play the game at school, and the more children who play the game, the more it will result in healthier lifestyles and a healthier population," Buckley said.

Qantas Socceroos stars Scott Chipperfield, Josh Kennedy, Luke Wilkshire and David Carney were on hand at Bicentennial Park, Annandale, to mark the occasion with striker Josh Kennedy showcasing the new Solo 'gold' coloured nets, on PILA's soccer goal posts, which will feature at football matches throughout the year.

The Football Federation of Australia and Solo thanked PILA group for their support. "The FFA and Solo would like to thank PILA group for supplying the soccer goal posts for this media event. PILA group is Australia's leading manufacturer of Sports Goal Posts and Streetscape products, setting the industry benchmark and offering the most advanced products in the Australian market."
