Keysborough Bowls Club celebrated its 50th anniversary with the opening of a new synthetic green on Friday night.
Keysborough Bowls Club
City of Greater Dandenong mayor Jim Memeti formalised the opening of the green, which will ensure club mem¬bers quality year-round bowling condi¬tions. The new green has been named 'Paperbark' as a nod to the council ward and councillors who have supported the club.

The synthetic surface will also pave the way for the club to host young bowlers, with club stalwart Ray John¬stone co-ordinating a primary school program that will introduce hundreds of local kids to the sport.

The Club has appointed Turf-Guide (John Curtain) as its greens contractor for the next 3 years. John has 32 years experience and is currently responsible for Frankston RSL and Karingal, and has also worked at Mentone bowls and the Victoria Golf Club.

For more information about the schools’ program, call the club on 9798 2097 or email: keysborough¬bowls@westnet.com.au.
