Work on a multi-million dollar upgrade of Klemzig Oval is expected to start by October.

Klemzig OvalPort Adelaide Enfield Council has endorsed a masterplan for the project, which includes a new $2.1 million community hall next to Gaza Football Club. Extra carparks will be created next to the football clubrooms and the oval will be realigned to make room for the community club and carpark.

Gaza Football Club president Bob Napier said the revamp would make Klemzig Oval "more people friendly".

"It really doesn't get used to its full potential at the moment," Mr Napier said. "One spin-off will be having more people coming to patronise our club when they use the community hall."
