Wairakei International Golf CourseA New Zealand golfer has a dislocated shoulder and fractured ribs after he was run over and trapped by a runaway golf cart.

The 66-year-old man was trapped under the cart until fellow golfers lifted it off him, Youthtown Trust Rescue Helicopter base manager Hendry de Waal said.

The accident happened when the cart driver lost control of the vehicle on Saturday afternoon, he said.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene and he was flown to Waikato Hospital with multiple injuries.
