Floratine Products Group, a global leader in manufacturing unique liquid nutrients for highly maintained turf facilities recently held an educational seminar in Malaysia named the Floratine University, which was held at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This event was hosted by the regional distributor of the Floratine products, Sports Turf Solutions Sbn Bhd (Malaysia). The seminar was held over 2 days with the key speaker being Dr. Joe Vargas from Michigan State University, USA.

Dr. Vargas is the Professor of Botany and Plant Pathology and during his presentation discussed numerous topics including Disease Identification and Control, along with Soil Issues and Environmental Impacts That Affect Turf Health. His energetic presentations were a huge hit with all attendees and he gave everyone the opportunity to discuss any topics one on one after his presentations were complete.

Many other topics were discussed over the 2 days, all relative to issues Golf Course Superintendents deal with in South East Asia and hopefully this gave them an insight into how to produce strong healthy turf during stressful times.

Other guest speakers were Mr. John Mills CGCS, former golf course superintendent from the Alotian Club, USA and now a consultant for his own firm, Todd Gilmore, Agronomist from Texas Turfcare USA, Mike Cavanaugh, Vice President of Floratine Products Group USA, James Sua CGCS, Superintendent from National Service Resort, Singapore and Leo Amandsya, Director of Bandung Giri Gahana, Indonesia.

According to Ms. Vaniel Tan, Sales and Marketing Manager for Sport Turf Solutions Sbn Bhd (Malaysia) "The KLFU succeeded in educating the superintendents on the benefits of foliar fertilizing and the effectiveness of the culture practices combined with good foliar program. Some say it's the best and most informative seminar that they have ever joined before. They have greatly enhanced with the theory of turf maintenance and this will help in their daily maintenance practice tremendously."

Due to this success, Floratine Products Group plan to hold future FU's throughout the Asia pacific region.
