Bad news out of China confirms that China have now plugged most of the holes to stop fertiliser being exported.

Anything containing Phosphorus will now incur a flat 110% export tariff, and virtually everything else will incur an 87% export tariff this effectively means the Chinese government are increasing fertiliser costs by 80% … effective from 1st January 2012.

To quote…China will impose a 110 percent tariff on some fertilizer exports in December in order to ensure adequate domestic fertilizer supplies for the coming spring, according to a statement released Tuesday by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) http://www.china.org.cn/business/2010-12/01/content_21457218.htm; and http://www.terrabetter.net/html_news/fertilizerexporttarrif2012-42.html

So what does this mean in our marketplace:

Sadly an increase in some fertilisers and anything coming out of China will be considerably more expensive. However due to our close ties with the fertiliser industry we have been able to source quality economical product and while stocks last pricing increases will only be minimal. However, once stocks go this situation may well not continue.

It may pay to ask your current suppliers about future pricing of your fertilisers or failing that please feel free to contact us directly!!

The bottom line is get in early and save your clubs money and in reality this could be a significant amount of money you are saving them!
