Geelong Racing Club will use specialised machinery to repair its turf track today to ensure next Wednesday's race meeting goes ahead. The club is confident the machine, a deep aerator, will make the track safe for racing.

Australia's fast bowlers will be hoping that MCG curator Cameron Hodgkins doesn't cut the fresh, green grass on the new Test strip for the Boxing Day Test against India. Hodgkins said that he "would like to leave some grass'' on the pitch but that he "did not want it green'' when play begins on Monday.
