My old mate John Purtell from Proturf Machinery was installing a new mower into the Services club, he suggested I pop in to say G’Day and grab a coffee on my way back down to Melbourne. The shocking events of Christchurch forced a late change of venues with the event being switched to Hamilton at late notice. Then the airlines shut up shop thanks to the Chilean ash cloud.
