A trip to the Wanganui Bowling Club's two-day classic fours on the weekend certainly brought home to me what an asset artificial greens are to a club.
First State Singles Championship Finals to be played on TigerTurf Bowlsweave
Weather conditions were less than favourable with intermittent and sometimes heavy rain, but apart from 30 minutes, no time was lost. Takaro Bowling Club stand to be well advantaged in future when they will be the only club in our centre with an artificial green.

The Tiger Turf they are laying is so much better than some of the earlier synthetics and the club should be able to attract a full green at tournaments throughout the winter. There were a few Manawatu bowlers having an early-season workout in Wanganui and several acquitted themselves well in good company that included a number of Taranaki's top bowlers, as well as the local high achievers.
