Magazine: Malaysian Turf Management Workshop

80 participants, including seven foreigners, attended the Malaysian Turf Management Workshop at the Saujana Resort in Shah Alam recently.
The foreign participants were from Indonesia, Singapore, Thai-land, Bangladesh, Brunei and the Philippines.
The two-day workshop was organised by Saujana Golf Management and supported by Jebsen & Jessen and Toro. Saujana managing director Datuk Abu Bakar Mohamed Nor, who launched the workshop, said the event was part of the Com-munity Social Responsibility programme.
“Saujana Golf and Country Club has been established as one of the premier golf clubs in Malaysia. Now we want to go a step further and upgrade the knowledge of the personalities involved in the golf industry.
“This is the first time such a workshop is being held in Malaysia. The participants are club managers, superintendents and those involved in the turf industry. We have participants from Putrajaya Corporation and Sirim,’’ said Abu Bakar.
The speakers were J. Neylan from the Australian Golf Course Superintendents Association and Micah Woods from Asian Turfgrass Centre.
There were 10 session covering various aspects in turf management.
The second day ended with a discussion. Participants also took part in a golf competition.
