Twice as much joy for the machine builder Wiedenmann. They were barely home, loaded with orders from their exhibition at the trade show, when they received the news that a leading industry magazine had just selected the new product of this Rammingen family enterprise as the test winner.
For many operators of sports grounds, greenskeepers and groundsmen, as well municipal parks, Wiedenmann is a constant. The company is a leading supplier of machines for the professional care of green areas, dirt removal and winter service.
The most recent development, a special 590 kg machine for turf care was named "test winner" in a large comparison test by the magazine "bi GaLaBau". The magazine, which has the largest circulation in the industry, invited four large manufacturers of powerful turf care machines to participate in the trial. The entry of the Rammingen company was its new "Terra Spike GXi". The machine is a deep spiking aerator for compact tractors. Simply stated, it pokes fine holes into the ground. What appears to the layman as disfigurement, is for turf experts one of the most important procedures for turf regeneration. The grou

nd is broken up to facilitate the exchanging of gases and to promote the water supply. The result is a healthy plant growth with greater resistance and a soft, green appearance. Practically every top turf achieves its excellent appearance by aeration. The conclusion of the thorough endurance test was obvious: "If I didn't already have a deep spiking aerator," writes the conductor of the test, "it (the machine from Wiedenmann) would be my choice." In almost every discipline, Wiedenmann achieved good to very good results.
This family operation, founded in 1964, has worked hard and long to achieve this success. The Terra Spike GXi marks the current peak of development. "XF", the sister model introduced in 2005, has already broken records and won numerous awards. To date it is considered to be the most productive working machine of its kind in the world. "This way our customers are up to 60% faster than their competitors," raves Sales Manager, Karl Wiedenmann. High productivity is a common feature of many products of this manufacturer. At the "demopark", a special trade show held in June in Eisenach, Germany, the striking red machines were besieged accordingly. There as well, the company was one of the largest of 21 exhibitors. "Dealers from all over the world placed orders with us," Wiedenmann explained. Approximately 73% of the company's turnover comes from outside Germany, predominately from Europe, North America and Australia. For years the average growth rate has been 14% - a genuine success story. The considerable investments that Wiedenmann makes on the home front are remarkable. Currently an investment programme of 4.6 Million euros is being carried out. Rammingen in the location of the Head Office and main Production Plant. Wiedenmann employs a total of 220 workers, with the tendency on the rise.
