Magazine: Quality Golf Australia Show Case the GreenFix Tool

Golfers, remember when we changed over from spikes to soft spikes?
A similar revolution is happening to the way we repair divot marks on our greens. We have discovered through five years of university studies and input from PGA Tour players and greens keepers that we have been going about repairing our marks in all the wrong ways.
The GreenFix tool is a simple, yet effective product that has been developed to dramatically improve golf greens by providing players and maintenance crews with the correct tool to properly repair ball marks. Equipped with the GreenFix Wizard - a “depth limiting” short-tonged ball mark repair tool - golfers use a simple “push” technique to repair ball marks quickly and properly. The patented design of the tool prevents the tongs from damaging the roots.
Quality Golf Australia have recently show-cased the GreenFix tool at the Australian Golf Course Superintendants Association Trade Exhibition, held in July at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
The trade show was a huge success with a positive response from all superintendents and greens keepers. The GreenFix was seen as an innovative tool that encourages a cultural change amongst members to be involved with maintaining their courses greens.
The Mount Lawley Golf Club has been the first in Australia to implement the GreenFix Ballmark Elimination System at their golf club in Western Australia. After only three weeks of implementing the program the Mount Lawley Secretary Manager says “Our greens have never been better”. The Vines Resort in Perth and Cromer Golf Club in Sydney have also signed up for the program and from what we have seen so far the results are consistent with Mount Lawley’s and over 400 courses in the US, including Medinah, Southern Hills and Bulle Rock.
Marks that are "repaired" with an old fashioned tool will last for six weeks or more. Really, it's a wonder that there is any turf left on the average golf course, where the greens staff have a lot more on their minds than fixing ball marks.
Superintendents and greens keepers who truly care about their courses would be wise to visit the GreenFix website – www.greenfixgolf.com or call Quality Golf Australia on 03-9598-5277 for more product information.
