In fact, Kubota Corporation is so large it has its own rugby union team in Japan – the Kubota Spears!
With the 14 team Japanese league scheduled to commence the 2010 season in August, two Kubota Spears players - Taro Hatamota (prop) and Kanno Tatsurou (lock) have spent the last four months training and developing their skills with the Brumbies rugby union team in Canberra.
On route back to Japan the two players stopped by at Kubota Tractor Australia’s Head Office and Distribution Centre in Melbourne. After meeting with Managing Director Mr Toshi Kawasaki, the two players took a tour of the facility before flying out.
Taro and Konno said their time with the Brumbies was very beneficial but the cold Canberra mornings were a bit of a challenge.
