The proposed stadiums were selected following a comprehensive, in-depth national infrastructure study, undertaken by industry experts who assessed each stadium against the current FIFA criteria.
12 FIFA-compliant stadiums are proposed, of which nine are currently operational and require modifications, while three will be new, state-of-the-art, purpose-built stadiums. All existing stadiums are proven venues for football, and have been the stage for remarkable events in Australia’s sporting history.
