Bellerive Oval is a cricket and Australian Rules ground located in the beautiful suburb of Bellerive in Hobart. The ground is set right on the beach making it arguably one of the most beautiful test grounds in the world.
It is the only venue in Tasmania to host international cricket and has a capacity of approximately 16,000. State Cricket side Tasmanian Tigers also calls the ground home during summer.
Bellerive Oval underwent a $16 million re-development at the start of the 21st century. The re-development included state-of-the-art indoor nets and a 6,000 seat Southern Stand that contains the new media centre. The Oval recently had light towers erected at the ground allowing it to host day- night and 20/20 matches for the first time this summer. The lights now mean Bellerive will be a busy stadium all year round!

Family: Married to wife Joanne with one little boy who is almost three.
Favourite Food: It doesn't end, I love food all of it!
Favourite Movie: I liked the The Shawshank Redemption, although everyone says that. I also like Raging Bull
Favourite Band: Like a lot of music, any Aussie band like Powderfinger or ACDC.
Teams Barrack for: The mighty cats, Geelong
Favourite Sport: I love AFL. Have to love my cricket. Watching AFL football on a Friday night with a packet of chips, can't beat that.
Hobbies: Golf not that I'm any good at it. Also used to play cricket and football but injuries put a stop to that.
Drinker and Favourite Drink: Yeah I don't mind a beer. This shows how acclimatised I've become to Tassie as my favourite is a Cascade Stout
Places Travelled: Been over to England and Ireland. Spain and France and a few other parts of Europe. Thailand, New Zealand and of course the mainland!
Favourite Machine: Love my Mentay hydro glide. You just fall in love with your rollers.
What would make your job easier: Bigger budget for sure and probably no football. Then I'd probably get bored!
Favourite company in the Turf Industry: Living Turf they have supported us a lot, and like to get involved in cricket wickets.
Most Annoying Rep: Living Turf can get annoying too ha! Any rep with bad timing let's say that.
Industry's Biggest Cowboy: Some of my old staff could be mistaken for cowboys. However, Adam Lewis at Hurstville Oval in Sydney gets my vote.
Who is your Turf God: I think Kevin Mitchell does a great job, but all the curators do a great job.
What's Your biggest cockup: Probably at Manuka playing cricket when I ended up in hospital for 9 days.I was Running for a ball and hit my own player and still didn't take the catch!
Funniest moment in the workplace: In our job you work with a lot of different characters. A old guy at Manuka had no teeth and we used to call him Fang.
What's your Motto: Attention to detail, and be passionate.
Who would you turn Gay for: Adam Lewis from Hurstville Oval.
Marcus passes with flying colours again, although the love for the local stout will come as a concern to his friends in Canberra and Sydney. My recent trip to Tasmania late last year, saw me stay next door to the Cascade brewery and try as I might, I couldn't find a cascade beer worth drinking!
Well done to Marcus for being such a great sport and a big congratulations for the test the other week which was a huge success. With more cricket to come this summer including state shield and a big 20/20 between Australia and West Indies in February, it's no rest for the wicked.

I went to Tassie last year.
Went to the Cascade brewery, horrible just horrible. Couldn't find a beer worth drinking.
I also went to the Boags brewery in Launceston. Loved all those beers.
Gardens at Boags not as nice for sure, but still Cascade yuk
