The remainder went to Sydney and Melbourne.
Teams of QRL officials and veterinarians yesterday vaccinated about 2000 racehorses in clean racing precincts on the Gold and Sunshine coasts, Ipswich and Toowoomba.
It was discovered last week that several horses from the previously clean areas at Hendra and Deagon had contracted equine influenza.
The State Government is considering taking action against a trainer who admitted deliberately infecting horses at the Hendra stables and possibly spreading the virus.
Robert Heathcote, who has 30 horses at the stables, began infecting them with the virus on Thursday.
Queensland Racing Ltd chief operations manager Malcolm Tuttle said he had received advice that the Office of Racing was considering taking action over the matter.
State Treasurer Andrew Fraser has shut down racing in Brisbane until February 1. By this afternoon, about 3500 vaccines will have been injected into the neck muscles of racehorses as officials extend the program to spelling farms and outlying racing clubs.
QRL chief steward Reid Sanders, who led the team at the Gold Coast, said Queensland's vaccine quota could be gone by the end of the week.
