Environmental TurfFor the second year in a row, Environmental Turf, Inc., was named Turf & Ornamental Company of the Year at the BoardRoom “Excellence in Achievement” Awards announced Sunday, June 14th at Boca West Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida.

ESPN’s Jim Kelly, who served as Master of Ceremonies at the event, presented the award to Environmental Turf’s President Stacie Zinn.
“The focus for Environmental Turf in 2008 was in helping to educate the golf and private club industry, including golf course architects, superintendents, managers and PGA Professionals at private clubs all over the world, about the innovative ways they can help the environment by grassing or regrassing their golf courses with low water use grasses such as SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum,” said Zinn. “Winning this award based on those efforts is extremely gratifying. We’re very honored to be chosen as the recipient of this award for the second year running.”

BoardRoom magazine is the official publication of the Association of Private Clubs & Directors. BoardRoom’s “Excellence in Achievement” Awards recognize both vendors and educators for their impact, achievements and contributions to the private club industry. All award entries are reviewed by an independent panel of industry experts representing various aspects of golf course and club operations. Winners are selected for overall excellence in their respective fields, innovation, vision for future growth and continued impact on private club operations.
More than 400 entries were submitted for all award categories.

About SeaDwarf® Seashore Paspalum:
SeaDwarf® is the industry's PREMIUM Seashore Paspalum turfgrass. Seadwarf® is the only true dwarf paspalum which means it delivers the fastest green speeds and highest quality greens of any Seashore Paspalum available. SeaDwarf® is very environmentally friendly and is highly salt-tolerant. It requires up to 75% less nitrogen for fertilization than bermudagrass, up to half the water for irrigation, and may be irrigated with alternative water sources. Plus, salt may be used as an herbicide. SeaDwarf® produces high-quality wall-to-wall golf courses and resilient sports fields. The nature of the way the grass grows enables it to heal up to twice as fast as bermudagrass from divots and sports-related damage.

SeaDwarf® is available through Environmental Turf’s network of licensed sod producers. A comprehensive list of licensed sod producers is available at: www.environmentalturf.com/shipping.html
